People often put coaches into neat little boxes labelled 'executive' or 'life'. But i.d. coaches don't fit into either of these boxes - we believe you simply cannot separate the work and the private persona. Managers are not just managers. They are real people who have values, beliefs, relationships, joys and worries that they bring in through the door with them every day - and take home with them every night!
People's performance at work is inextricably linked to who they are and how they are. So if the coaching process is to be truly effective, it has to address both the surface issues and any factors that may lie underneath.
We take a flexible, client-centred approach to coaching that is designed to get the individual 'fit and healthy' for the challenges they face at work. We use diagnostic processes to ensure our approach to the client is appropriate to their personality and preferences. We agree clear objectives around what you would like to achieve and the time-scales within which we need to work. We set the boundaries around confidentiality, so that clients feel safe enough to enter into an honest, open relationship with their coach. And we encourage clients to own and understand the coaching process, so that they can become more effective coaches for their own teams.
At the beginning of the coaching relationship, people are sometimes sceptical about how much they will get out of it. Our greatest satisfaction is that by the end, they have deepened their self knowledge, widened their thinking and are operating at a brand new level.
